The tips of hair are usually damaged because this part of hair is with us the longest, affected by all of the treatments and chemical processing. We often cause damage using unsuitable products, heat styling, and not protecting it against the weather conditions and air pollution. Learn to repair hair ends and keep them safe.
1. COLOR ONLY THE HAIR ROOTS
If you often get your hair colored, the ends probably keep the color for longer: the dye isn’t as easily washed out of the tips as it is from other parts of the hair. The color on the roots fades the fastest so when you revive the color, apply the dye on the roots which are the healthiest and more resistant to damage. Additionally, try to cut down on coloring and do it once in 5 weeks or so. When you apply the dye, use it on the tips at the end of the procedure (keep it for a few minutes only).
2. NURTURE YOUR HAIR WITH HAIR OIL TREATMENT

Try some serum designed for fixing, nourishing and strengthening damaged hair. It should be high in nutrients that are necessary to prevent dryness and damage. A good serum for damaged hair contains natural vegetable oils, vitamins – like vitamin B5, silk and the building block of hair, that is keratin. 4. SLEEP ON A SILK PILLOWCASE
When trying to avoid damaging the hair even more, it’s good to take a look at your bedsheets! During sleep we keep tossing and turning and so does the head… If hair ends are fragile and brittle, your sheets make them worse. A silk pillowcase is a must while cotton is forbidden.
5. GIVE UP ON FLAT IRON AND CURLING WAND
Remember that ends of hair are the most delicate and vulnerable to the effect of external factors, including hot tools. Therefore, avoid straighteners and curlers like the plague because the devices literally burn your hair and break disulfide bonds irreversibly. When using a blow-dryer, never set a high temperature. Before blow-drying routine, always apply a heat protectant and remember to use a cool airflow as a finishing touch.
